The BeatTheBookie App is, in a way, the natural development of my hobby project, the BeatTheBookie blog. This journey began several years ago when I transitioned from being a recreational punter to adopting a more data-driven approach. I documented this transformation through various blog posts, sharing the knowledge and experience I gained along the way.
At the beginning of 2023, the idea for the BeatTheBookie App was born. Although my new ensemble modeling approach showed excellent performance, my process of obtaining predictions, comparing them to the market, and identifying value bets still lacked usability. The addition of current market odds further complicated the problem.
The BeatTheBookie App not only enhances my betting process, but it also enables me to analyze the past performance of my models from different perspectives. This is undoubtedly a significant step towards becoming a data-driven punter.
